Some people believe that universities should provide graduates with the knowledge and skills needed in the workplace. Others think that the true function of a university should be to give access to knowledge for its own sake, regardless of whether the course is useful to an employer.
In my opinion, I think university should teach students about jobs because this is very important for their future. When students finish university, they need to find work and earn money, so university must prepare them for this. Nowadays, many students cannot find jobs after graduation because they don't have the right skills. Companies want people who can work immediately, not people who only know theory. For example, my cousin studied philosophy and now he cannot find any job. This shows that universities should focus on practical skills. However, some people say that university should teach knowledge for knowledge. They think students should learn about many subjects like history and art. But I disagree because these subjects don't help you get a job easily. In conclusion, I believe universities main function is to prepare students for workplace. This is more useful than learning things that are not practical. Students need jobs to survive in modern world.
